Alabama's Oak Mountain State Park

What a great state park and campground! This place has something for everyone - golf, horses, trails, bike lane throughout the park, hiking, swimming, kayaking, etc. The campground is great. There are full hook-up sites, sites with just electric and water, and tent sites that are primitive. The campsites are well spaced out and most are set in the woods.

It is located right off Interstate 65, just south of Birmingham, Alabama in Pelham. Despite the easy access, you would never know that a major city and interstate are just minutes away. The park is large with two lakes, stables, hiking paths, an archery range, and a golf course. There are tons of restaurants and grocery stores in the area.
